No, I'm not minimizing the devastation that we are seeing around the world right now, due to the virus. But I AM saying that I have noticed, all of a sudden, at least a dozen new youtube drummers absolutely shredding it, and I've never heard their names two weeks ago. I've also seen drummers who I watch regularly start to grow at a rate I'v never seen before!
WHY?
Because they are not wasting this opportunity. Most of us are stuck at home, and instead of learning something new, or binge watching The Handmaids Tale, Drummers are sitting down at there sets again. Devoting Hours to practicing, when before it would have been minutes. Refreshing there reading and technique with online drum lessons and picking up the high school books. Now is the time! Don't get left behind... you can't gig right now, and your distractions have been more than limited, so why not use this time to get better. I promise you, at the end of this, if you use it wisely, there wont be a band, a gig, or opportunity that you CANT get, because you will be so much better than every other drummer looking for the job. I guarantee you!
